The company, with registered office located in Alcazar de San Juan, Spain, is an entity primarily engaged in the production and distribution of cheese under the brand names Garcia Baquero, Villacenteno and Gran Maestre. It was established in 1962 as a small livestock farm that produced two or three whole cheeses per day. Cheese production begins at the collection stations located in the regions of Andalusia, Castile-León and Castile-La Mancha. Milk obtained from over 4,000 associated livestock farms is brought to these centers, which houses automatic milking rooms. Milk collected is then delivered to the production center in Alcazar de San Juan for processing. Among the company's subsidiary is Pok Quesera Palentina, S.L., which also produces cheese from sheep's milk under the Pok trademark and cheese from cow, sheep and goat's milk under the Manchepok label. Another wholly owned subsidiary is Igarve SA, which is involved in the production of hams under the Montedulce trademark. The company is also active in Portugal through Ancora, Lda and Garcia Baquero - Lacticinios SA.
